It is not a bulletin board. For us, it is clearly an unwelcome demonstration of self-aggrandizement

What a joke!

Was trolling the Internet, searching for things on the new MSN search site and put in a search for good ol’ Gaylord,Mn. Somewhat suprised to see the city’s website at the top of the ranking, but hey that’s good for them.

The listing even had current news of new mayor, so I clicked through to the site. First thing to notice is new site design. The first and most humorous image you see is a folksy image of a couple guys out in a fishing boat. Hilarious! If anyone knows a little something of Gaylord, it’s a fact that fishing like that does not take place anywhere near here. Even more amusing is the fact that the town’s gem Lake Titloe is a joke, similar to a toxic cesspool, even though there seems to be some constructive talk about changing things.

I realize the folksy photos were probably stock with the setup, but it may be of better interest to include something that better fits the town. I also like the tagline ‘Community, Agriculture, Industry’. It reminds me of the SimCity line of games where your main concerns were the Commerical, Residental and Industry segments of your town. Ah yes, innovativation reigns supreme.

MSN Spaces

Seems MSN is finally jumping on the blog bandwagon. So I’ve signed up with:

the epitome of ambiguity @ MSN Spaces

Not sure if it’ll be as cool as this weblog, but it’s something interesting at least. After toying around with the features and custom settings, it might be a good thing for people wanting to get into weblogs fairly easy. Even heard they might integrate the newest MSN Messenger to post to this Spaces site. We shall soon see.

Dear Hotmail

Why do you insist on using javascripts to open a new window for every link that appears in an email??? I hate using your pathetic service and now I get an new window for every link I click on? Forget it. I am seriously considering dropping your service. It serves no useful purpose other than to piss me off even more. STOP MESSING AROUND WITH HTML THAT APPEARS IN **MY** EMAIL MESSAGES. javascript is for dinosaurs and idiots, and you can figure out which you are!

—— Hotmail is bad and getting worse. The previous paragraph is my inquiry into a new method of madness they are trying to implement. Every link in your emails are set to open a new browser window. What the hell is that good for? I personally use Mozilla Suite and LOVE the use of tabbed browsing and can often use the open hyperlink in new tab from the right-click submenu in mozilla. But this Hotmail BS renders that inactive and insists instead on opening a whole new browsing window for every,EVERY little link.

Pathetic.

How can they continuously piss me off even more? Maybe the Microsoft connection is why.

After browsing this guy’s weblog, I’m thinking I should be spewing forth earthmoving fountains of insite into the world and especially my corner of it. They say blogging is the new journalistic media, but what if it’s just a place to put forth yours thoughts without a care in the world if someone else would read it or find insight placed within.
